Die Schnecke Ampullina (Ampullinopsis) crassatina (LAMARCK) lebte räuberisch in Flachwasserbereichen kalkreicher Ozeane. Sie gehört zur Famiie der Mondschnecken, die als Räuber andere Weichtiere im Meeresboden aufspüren, anbohren und aussaugen.

Alter: ca. 28 Mio. Jahre, Chattium, ob. Oligozän
Fundort: Gaas, Dept. Landes/ Frankreich
